Instructions

First, start by making your marinade. In a bowl, mix all marinade ingredients. You can store it in the refrigerator for up to three weeks. This is really great to prepare in advance and speed up your meal prep. Make sure you stir every time you use it.

Next, prepare your steak by removing any excess fat and slicing it into thin strips. Place your steak into marinade, cover, and let sit in the fridge while you prep your veggies. Rinse your carrots and broccoli. Peel and chop carrots into small pieces. Cut the broccoli ends and chop them into small florets. Boil your rice and set aside. You can find a recipe for cooking rice in our envision eats library.

Blanch your veggies by boiling water and adding vegetables for a few seconds to cook partially. Place in an ice bath to stop the cooking process, and then drain once all your veggies are semi-cooked.

Use a medium pan and let it heat up for 5-10 minutes. Spray it with cooking spray, then add your flank steak. Let it cook for 2 minutes, then flip it over. You want to ensure it has that brownish tint and the sear marks from the pan. Place your rice, steak, and veggies in a bowl and enjoy.

Garlic cloves

Rice vinegar

Soy sauce

Asian chili paste

Soy sauce

Step 2

Rinse carrots cut ends off, peel and cut in circles no thicker than ½ inch.

Step 3

Rinse broccoli, and cut off florets leaving a small stem length.

Step 4

Cook your rice in a rice cooker or on the stove.

Step 5

Using a medium-deep pot, fill half ways and bring water to a boil. Once boiling, add broccoli. Leave for 45 sec-1 minute, use thongs to remove from boiling water, and place in an ice bath. Place in a perforated hotel pan or leave in a colander to drain.

Step 6

Place a medium pan on the stove at medium heat. Once ready, spray with non-stick spray and add steak to the pan. Distribute meat evenly on the pan, so your meat cooks evenly. Flip meat/toss every 2-3 minutes until cooked to 155 degrees.
